Specialty Finishing Agent for Cool Touch Cosmetic Puff
PARACOOL ID-8P

 PARACOOL ID-8P is mainly composed of erythritol and xylitol which offer a moderate cooling effect (endothermic, or positive heat of solution) when they dissolve in water. By applying
PARACOOL ID-8P to cosmetic puff, coolness is given in contact with skin moisture as a result of endothermic reaction of such sugar alcohols as erythritol and xylitol.
 PARACOOL ID-8 is resistant to washing, which has been realized by our new emulsification technique to enclose water-soluble erythritol and xylitol.


Cooling Effect Produced by PARACOOL ID-8P

 Cosmetic puff treated by PARACOOL ID-8P lowers its temperature in a moist condition and gives cooling effect to skin.

Emulsification technique in PARACOOL ID-8P

 Our new emulsification technique has been introduced for the development of PARACOOL ID-8P. The emulsion, enclosing water soluble erythritol and xylitol, is characterized by nano-sized emulsion particles and extreme permeability, with which superior durability is realized.
 The nano-sized emulsion particles enclosing erythritol and xylitol are retained by balancing between hydrophilic and hydrophobic components.

Cooling effect of cosmetic puff treated by PARACOOL ID-8P

Sample: cosmetic sponge puff (treated by 10% PARACOOL ID-8P)

・Evaluation of cooling effect
The probe of thermo sensor is placed on heat plate of which temperature is regulated at 35℃. When the probe detects a temperature of 32℃, a drop of water is dropped on the probe to simulate damp skin, and sponge puff is immediately made in contact with the probe.
The temperature is measured when sponge puff is made in contact with the probe, and kept measuring at intervals of 10 seconds for 3 minutes.

Precautions

1. Preliminary tests should be carried out to check the effect to handling touch and color fastness as well as compatibility with other chemicals.
2. The product is stable under normal condition. It is ideal to store it at cool dark place.
